A Brave New World

Hello and welcome to my blog.

My name is James Maynard and I have many hobbies and interests, a lot of which I want to share with everyone on this website, so we can learn and grow together as friends. I love many things in my life, however there is one person I love more than anything or anyone and that is my wife Terri. We have been together since September 12th, 2001. we got married shortly thereafter on February 2nd 2002. There have been many struggles and hardships that we have faced, but we have faced them together. We laugh and we love. I believe with each other we can do just about anything.

Okay enough of the mushy stuff, The website is about me, isn’t it?

My hobbies include making films, ghost hunting, technology and watching films. My favorite kind of films are zombie films. I won’t go into much detail on here about that because I have a website dedicated to nothing but zombies over at The Zombie Junkyard at http://www.zombiejunkyard.net

As for ghost hunting, it’s something I have been wanting to go out and do now for over a year. I have been gathering equipment like camera’s, audio recorders and EMF gauges for awhile now so I can do just that. I am going out very soon, as soon as the weather gets better. When I go out to hunt ghosts I will post about them and my findings here for your audio and visual enjoyment.

Now as for film making is concerned. I have made a 48 minute film back in 2005 called Wormwood, with the help of my friends. I have recently acquired a new 1080p HD video camera and have been itching to use it to make even more films with my friends. I have been thinking about filming a comedic drama or a documentary.

I also build websites for my friends and family that I host on my server and maintain myself.

There is a whole lot of stuff I know how to do and a whole lot of stuff I still need to learn. Take technology for example. I use to be able to build a PC from the ground up back in the day, but now they have so many things like Mini-PCI cards and so many processors that can only work on certain boards only and not others and has made it difficult for me to do anymore so I bought an HP. I do love computers, tablets and devices, however my growing obsession lately is with Operating Systems (OS) and it is getting out of hand already, especially with the linux OS because of so many Distros, its hard to choose the flavor that I want. Each Linux distro does different things and looks differently from one another. I’ll explain later on what Linux does and doesn’t do later on.

I am also gathering up survival equipment for if the Shit Hits The Fan. This includes Food Storage, Weapons, Solar, Hunting and anything else that has to do with me and my wife’s Self Preservation. Lots of stuff to come from me with this topic and how I am preparing for when The Shit Hits The Fan.

I am a Libertarian Independent Ronald Reagan Conservative. So I can really get pissed off at about anybody that is in office at any given point of time. They are all screw ups in my book.

I listen to talk radio when I am not doing anything else, this includes Coast To Coast AM, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and many other radio personalities and shows.
